We offer expert leak detection for your pool. We handle the problem from start to finish, finding the source of the leak, then performing whatever repairs are needed to fix the problem. Our leak detection people are the best in the business. They have the training, equipment, experience and instinct necessary to find the problem quickly.

Our leak detection includes pressure testing all the plumbing and dye testing the structure of the pool. If the pressure test indicates a leak, we then use sophisticated listening equipment to pinpoint the source of the leak (usually within six inches each time!)

Usually, we recommend leak detection if the pool is losing at least 1/2 inch of water per day. Under that and it may be too little to detect. We recommend checking the obvious sources such as leaking backwash valves before commencing leak detection.

Leak Detection/Repair Disclaimer: It is possible for more than one leak to be present on a single plumbing line. Typically only one leak can be detected on a single line at one time. Therefore, after the recommended repair is completed it is possible for another leak to exist. If another leak is present and Tropix is notified within 30 days of repair completion no additional leak detection charges will incur.

Leak Detection and Repair

Got a leak?

We can help!

Success in the leak detection field requires a combination of the right equipment, experience , instinct and determination.    Sometimes leaks are fairly easy to find and other times they can be more difficult.

When your pool has a leak problem, you don't need a hassle, you need a company that can provide solutions, quickly and efficiently . . . and at a fair price.

If your pool has a leak, here is what to do:

  1. Measure your water loss over a 24 hour period to insure that the pool is losing at least 1/2 inch of water per day.

  2. Make sure that the problem is not something obvious like a fountain head spraying water all over the place or a backwash valve that is leaking water to the sewer (we can check this for you if needed before doing full blown leak detection).

  3. Call our repair department at 214-349-6100 and set up an appointment with our leak detection experts.

  4. Our experienced professional will do a complete leak detection on the entire pool, which includes a full pressure test of the pool and its equipment.  We also will dive and do a dye test on the structure of the pool, focusing on any cracks and any place where plaster come in contact with anything else (inlets, lights, skimmers, etc.)

  5. Once the detection process is complete, we will give you a proposal for any further repairs that may be necessary.

A full leak detection on a typical home pool costs $395.00 to complete for a typical pool, and $50.00 extra if you have a pool/spa combo with a shared set of equipment.  If the system has additional features and piping (fountains, waterfalls, etc) the price may be slightly higher.
