We recommend the Pool-Brite Premium Plaster because it contains additives that guard against plaster failure and spot etching, and it gives you a written five year warranty.
All plaster contains lime (from the cement in the plaster) and that lime can weaken the plaster mix and cause etching and effluorescence. The additives help to turn that lime into a beneficial product which enhances the durability and trowelability of the plaster mix.
